Rumundu Academy

The Rumundu Academy is the first permanent school in the Mediterranean.
The world needs innovators: girls and boys, future women and men who can create valuable projects for the community, with an eye to sustainability.

The Rumundu Academy is the place where it all happens. Surrounded by the Park of Porto Conte (Alghero), it is a space for exchange, experimentation and coming together, where the innovators of the future can grow their knowledge and skills.

Inaugurated in June 2018, the Academy is open 365 days a year and can host individuals or groups of up to 12 people.

Social Innovation School

One week to learn, design, experiment and compare. Seven days to devise projects and foster the creation of business models with a strong social impact as well as environmentally and economically sustainable. Such is the purpose of the Social Innovation School, the school for social innovators, based in Alghero since 2016, inside the Science and Technology Park of Porto Conte. The Social Innovation School is open to 12 young participants who will work in teams to pursue their business ideas and projects. The areas of interest are the most diverse, but all projects follow one common thread: having a positive impact on society and the land.

A highly educational and engaging experience, where participants are supported by international teachers and mentors who encourage their creativity and skills through unconventional teaching and methods of facilitation, acceleration and deceleration. The School, sponsored by the foundations Fondazione di Sardegna and Fondazione Con il Sud, also promotes the social skills of the participants, with fun and relaxation as well as tours and outdoor activities in the nature around Alghero.

MediterranEU- Young people changing Europe

MediterranEU aims at shaping a new generation of young Europeans able to understand and enhance the value of their community. It combines innovation, art and culture, environment, urbanism and social life.

The project is structured in two areas: the first involves 30 young Sardinians, between the ages of 16 and 19, who will engage for three months in the design of entrepreneurial activities with a high degree of sustainability, starting from the analysis of the needs of the community. The best projects will qualify for a week-long Summer School with teachers from all over Europe and the top three in the acceleration course will be granted an experience abroad.

MediterranEU also offers a week-long course for twelve young people from the World House in Rondine, Tuscany, coming from several countries in conflict. A full immersion in experiential workshops and lessons to create innovative development projects aimed at finding ways to reduce armed conflicts in the world.

The project, promoted by Rumundu, is made possible by the contribution of the Third Pillar Foundation – International, the City of Alghero and Rondine Citadel of Peace.
